Hi all you Army Musicians out there, I have 15 pocket scores by the following composers, all looking for a good home,JS Bach, Serge prokofieff, Ludwig van Beethoen, Bruch,Bruckner, Debussey Grieg, Humperdinck, Mozart, Janacek E.N.v. Reznicek and (Gordan Jacob , for Euphonium & Band , Fantasia) Helene
Not being musically inclined myself, but would the music be OK for piano or sax?if so I have an almost 18 yr old grandson would like them.

I don't know because I can't even read music except for the basic melody line and then only if it is a really simple tune but it isn't really printed like sheet music that you would sit at a piano with it it a small book and some of them have all the instruments going down the page, and some just has the music , Jim use them for doing arrangements for the bands and his own personal arranging. If he liked a piece of music he bought the score book and strated doing his own arrangement of it. I did Scottish country dancing that is how I met Jim, my group went as the entertainment for Burn's Night at Kneller Hall. We had to do about three or four dances and then get the members of the Mess up to Dance as well, I don't remember Jim dancing he was propping up the Bar, I think
ReplyDeleteRight thank you does not seem suitable for him pity that.

I might have some Sax music as Jim played that what level of advancement is he so I will know if it is suitable
ReplyDeleteNot too sure what level he is but has been playing now for over 6 six years, and I believe his tutor says he is very good and if he cannot get a job after colledge, try to get into the BIG BANDS,so he must be a fair player
ReplyDeletei don't think I have anything suitable because most of it went back to kneller hall unless he is thinking of giving some lessons for beginners to earn money towatds college fees.I have some books for sax but they are for beginers upto about grade6or 8, and some scales and allpegios
ReplyDeleteMethinks this music stuff is getting complicated - allpegios - sounds like an Arctic penguin?
