I am sad to report the death of Douglas Alfred (Dickie) Clark who served as a Cpl with the 1st Royal Dragoons 1937-45. He passed away yesterday near Prestatyn North Wales at the age of 88 years. Our condolences have been passed to his widow and family at this difficult time.

I read abt the passing of SGT HALES N.J BEM on the  HOUSEHOLD CAV BB. i cant place him as a ROYAL i have checked all my eagles from 1948-1969...if he was ex ROYAL im sure i wud remember him.. i did know SGT HALES BEN who was a sgt in C SQN for awhile is my brain dead...comments please   regards DEREK

I am also Clal card with our better halves of course,realy great weekend for those that have never been,all three services will be there plus civies who worked in Aden.

good food and entertainment,come on down or up as the case may be.(Only £142.00  for half board and gala Dinner on the Sat Evening)+ Church or cenataph Parade on Sunday.

Remember Tom Sparks??

I have just returned from a tour to Torquay with a Bowls Club from Rochester, Kent and had the pleasure of meeting an ex Royal,  Tom Sparks, now in his 80s.  Tom served from 1938 to 1946 in Palestine and was a fuel bowser driver that resupplied the Recce Troop.  When Tom first went to Palestine it was still cavalry and whilst there they were mechanised to armoured cars.  He had some amazing stories to tell about the transition.  If anyone knows anyone that might remember Tom then please contact me and I'll put them in touch.  I truly remarkable Gent.
