A good clear picture, perhaps a potential stickman. I would guess pre 1958/59 certainly taken before the advent of the new belt buckle the full brass unit with the 105 eagle emblem. All the very best seasonal greetings to every one. Bryan.
I met Ray at Carlisle he arrived there a couple of weeks before me and made a pal of Roy Cooper who I was at school with in Brum and was sadly killed on his first T.A. at Tilshead Camp, the 3 of us ended in Egypt together, where they split us up, we then went to Wesendorf were Ray decided he liked cooking and joined the cooks in the cookhouse, Roy stayed in A Sqn. and I joined the Q.M. group as Regimental signwriter, but we stayed in touch until Roy and myself were demobbed, lost touch at that point with Ray, great photo. If I remember right he lived in Small Heath B'ham
Barrie, many thanks did'nt know about his mate but yes he was a very good cook and cooked for some great people from the senior army ranks and was held in kind regards by all of them
Yes I agree - a well pressed BD looked much more soldierlike.I acquired a Canadian BD for walking out,was I proud of that uniform - even though I bought it from my pittance of a wage!!!!! -------- Don
