I don't recall seeing wooden huts in Tidworth (1960s era anyway). Looks a bit more like Carlyle? Also, the only people to wear white plumes were in the band and these are not band members ! The mystery deepens.

I take your point derek only what I'm saying is that it was made "official" (sometime in the late 1800s)that the band wore white plumes and the regiment wore black ones. As far as I can see, It only 'went to pieces' after George Evans left, when the band reverted back to black.
I have a photo of six of us dressed in full-monty and we're all in the black plumes. This was at Wolfenbuttel in 1949, I think it was for a Waterloo Day Ball at the Town Hall, as a Guard of Honour. I was wearing the Adjutant's boots.
