"Hi my name is Matthew Jim's forth son. I am sorry to inform you all that Jim passed away in his sleep this morning. I will put any funeral details on his account should any wish to attend."
This is a follow up to Matthews post regarding his father.
Dear All Matthew here again. The Funeral will be held at 12 noon on Wedesday April 7th at St. Georges R.C. Church Warminster Wilts BA12 9JP. Flowers from family and close friends or donations to The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards Regimental Trust and Association if you would like to. This was something close to my fathers ...heart he loved his regiment and time in the Army and at Kneller Hall.
Matthew I knew your father Jim when I was in the Regiment he was a very nice person, as I live in Frome in Somerset I and my Wife Pauline will attend the Service at Warminster on teh 7th April Ray Brown.
This is Helene,Jim's Wife I would like to thank everyone for their kind words and help at this time. We have recieved so much help from all thr regiemntal associations Jim belonged to and you will have to forgive me if I forget to mention anyone that has written and we haven't thanked yet. My special thanks go to Mr Alaistair Maclean Gibbs for his beautiful Piping at the funeral. All the local people from our church were very impressed by it , as apparently they use someone from a local pipe band usually and of course they aren,'t up to the usual Army standard. I am going back to work on Monday as Mortgage still has to be paid such is Life. I have loads of photo albums of jim's early army life so when I have time I will post a few Photos on the site, They should bring back a few happy memories for some of you. They will probably also make you groan when you look at the very old style uniform, I use to tease Jim because he joined the Army when I was starting Junior school. I also Have loads of Music which we will probably be sending to the music Library at Kneller Hall . I also have found acouple of Address books of address of most of the people he know in the Bands and associations So if the are any ghood to Your Association Secretay or Band Secretary I will pass them on
