Grumps im not sure what is going on all i know about London is what JM mentioned at the last reunion i understood that Doug Best was going to help him,,heard nothing more so i expect it has gone by the wind. however thats my thoughts on the matter.having said that we all know about the Lichfied reunion and what it costs,as for London im sure it will cost an arm and leg and be out of reach for a lot of members pockets. cant say more as i just dont know regards derek
Can either Doug or John make a comment as to whether it is still being looked into ? I would have thought it will have to be one or the other, not both, as I can see members favouring one and not the other, which will deminish the numbers attending. I have stated that I will attend a reunion next year, whether it is Lichfield or London will have to be sorted quickly. TIS
Hi All -- I posted on Feb. 28 on 2010 Reunion. I would e-mail John, ref. 2011. With the above posts, members worried about 2011 reunion I will post now my findings.
I have contacted Victory Services Club, Union Jack Club and Chelsea Hospital for costings of Buffet and Bar for approx. 80 - 100 members. Without going into detail I rejected all 3. (See Dereks post above) Reunion this year at NMA I was hoping to discuss with John A, Dennis and John M. the 2011 (350yrs.) I was going to recommend the NMA as we have had such good service from the Premier Inn.at Lichfield. Looking at the posts on this subject it has already been decided and I am quite happy to accept that. See you all soon.
Doug now that we have put up our date for 2011, can you say when you were thinking of having the (350yrs) reunion and were you going to join with me in organising one at the Premier Inn for that year.
As todate this topic has been viewed 126 times by 48 members i would have thought we would have had a lot more comments.....Comments are needed from you as they will help John Atkins in the organisation GET YOUR FINGER OUT DEREK
John A, Returning to my previous posts. There is no point having 2 reunions in 2011. I was intending to discuss this with you, Dennis and John M. in June 2010 as per my previous posts on this site and reunion 2010. Some members have jumped the gun. We can resolve this and discuss on 19th. June 2010.
I will try my best to come in 2011 wherever its held,I still think Lichfield is ideal, the Premier is good, and the nearby NMA makes it very attractive. --------- Don
As Doug said the best place to discuss the 2011 reunion and get a show of hands, would be at the 2010 reunion, and post the result on here and the 105 site. for all to read. ------------------------ Paddy H.
