I remember Charley Briggs had a collection of helmets at least one Royals was amongst them. Do'es any one know where he is these days last time I saw him he was off to scotland to become a Range Officer ! Bandsmen can become quite versatile it seems. Frank
Well I was Known as the RSM of PSA DoE sennelager, dosnt that count? but remember Charley went downhill from Royals to 4/7 RDG as Bandmaster, then to RTR Cambria Band as band leader then Range officer equivilent to a Royals Boy trumpeter ? ( if charley reads this ,Sorry Charley only joking.)
How can you go 'downhill' from bandsman to WOI least of all from Captain to Major? and then not to mention George Evans! So what about Joe Fisher Frank......
Stan its obvious. Joe went from 1st dragoons to the 2nd Dragoons and although their motto is second to none they are of course second to the First .get it? and as for the RTR I haven't forgiven them yet for for "Busting me in 1957, even though I did make them sweat up to the last minute 20 years later when they had HM as their Col -in-Chief visiting them ,and I was the District Grounds Maintenance Officer.Yes I enjoyed that.there were young guys from those years gone by who were in very senior positions then. and I still have somewhere the special certificate of honour thanking me. Yes Sir I like it when a plan comes together. Frank
