Sorry the pictures are in the wrong order.Pic 1 is infact number 3.So it starts with the two in dress uniform and finishes with the other two also in dress uniform and I am the one on the extreme right
Fred when was this taken? I have picked you out, also "Bunny" Austin, from the days at Wolfenbuttel, but age blunts the memory for names although some of the faces are remembered. I once bumped into Nobby Clarke on the station at Manchester Central after I had been demobbed, but I can't remember the year,. He told me the Royals were at Chester. Harold.
I have a very good copy of this photograph & can pick out any individuals through photoshop if anyone wishes. This photo was taken at the time of King George VIs visit to the Regiment at Chester on 5 December 1950. A photo was also taken of the officers & the old comrades, which I also have copies.
We seem to have aroused some interest in the Kings visit to Chester and a number of you quote names.Could we have a system of naming people and stating their position in the picture .i.e pic 2, row number 6 (all numbers from the left) then the name. The rest of us can then identify the person (especially those of us who are no longer in our prime and often have senior momentsiwhich includes forgetting names.
I've already commented on this photo but I'm having com trouble. I remember most of the names on it. Me Derek? I'm third from the right top rank. Paddy
Where is PADDY PAUL ?? (in the pub)
