RIP PC BILL BARKER

I would like to send my condolences to the famly of PC BILL BARKER who gave his life to save others in COCKERMOUTH

Yes,I agree,I saw the pictures from Cumbria and it must have been,or still is,a nightmare.I can't imagine anything worse having your home and furniture under water,do hope for those dear souls things get better shortly.It seems to me that the west of UK seems to be suffering very badly from "global warming"?

  5. Its very sad that a PC lost his life doing what would be considered routine duty. As regards flooding, I lived in Dumfries -an area affected -and now live 17 miles away,.A particular area of that town -The White Sands- usually floods two or three time a year ,but nobody thinks that it is necessary to spend money overcoming the problem.

  7. DAVE could you please tell me WHY the police doing this sort of job ,that they are not issued with life jackets?

  8. Dennis I understand he was amember of Roads Policing,ie a Traffic Officer. He just would not have been carrying a life jkt in his car. There again you just would not expect such a big bridge just to literally collapse would you.Dave Bramble
