ReplyDeleteBrian was the first pal I had in the Royals. We were both in 2 Troop B Sqn in Tidworth in 1963. We used to go out on Friday nights playing darts for and in various pubs in Andover and, if the games ran over, we had the unenvious trek back all 11 miles back to Bhurtpore if we missed the last bus and couldn't cadge a lift. Having married his sister Janice I was his brother-in-law for 37 years. I met him again last year at the Royals reunion and he and I and his wife Christine had a long and now very valued chat. Goodbye ands RIP Strats. Condolences to Christine and to Dean and Nicky. Plummy.
ReplyDeleteAfter 30 yrs I was able to meet again last year at the Reunion many old comrades including Brian, there is a pic i believe of Brian,Plummy, Notty, Tiger & Me somewhere .
ReplyDeleteRest in Peace Old Friend.
Condolances to Christine, Family & Friends.

I used to babysit Dean and Nick in Detmold and so saw Brian as a family man as well as a soldier. He was so laid back, I used to call him "horizontal". Never heard him raise his voice. A dear friend gone, but never forgotten. I have a coopy of the photo that Pixie mentions. Condolences to Christine and the family.
ReplyDeleteMy sinvere condollence to Brians family and his many friends . RIP Brian
