Senior Citizens

It was NOT the Senior Citizens who took:

The melody out of music,
The pride out of appearance,
The courtesy out of driving,
The romance out of love,
The commitment out of marriage,
The responsibility out of parenthood,
The togetherness out of the family,
The learning out of education,
The service out of patriotism,
The Golden Rule from rulers,
The nativity scene out of cities,
The civility out of behaviour,
The refinement out of language,
The dedication out of employment,
The prudence out of spending,
The ambition out of achievement, or,
God out of government and school.

And we certainly are NOT the ones who eliminated patience and tolerance from
personal relationships and interactions with others!

YES, I'M A SENIOR CITIZEN!

I'm the life of the party ...... even if it lasts until 8 p.m.
I'm very good at opening childproof caps .... with a hammer.
I'm usually interested in going home before I get to where I am going.
I'm awake many hours before my body allows me to get up.
I'm smiling all the time because I can't hear a thing you're saying.
I'm very good at telling stories; over and over and over and over...

I'm not really grouchy: I just don't like traffic, waiting in long lines, crowds, lawyers, unruly kids, barking dogs, politicians and a few other things I can't seem to remember right now. I'm sure everything I can't find is in a safe secure place, somewhere

I'm wrinkled, saggy, lumpy, and that's just my left leg.
I'm having trouble remembering simple words like.....
I'm beginning to realize that aging is not for wimps.

I'm sure they are making adults much younger these days, and when did they let kids become policemen? I'm wondering, if you're only as old as you feel, how could I be alive at 150? I'm a walking storeroom of facts.... I've just lost the key to the storeroom door.

snow and ice

I got family living in Bournemouth he tells me he cant get out of the house because he is snowed in.& that he has had to get his bother-in -law to bring him some food ! I asked  him   how deep it was he says 4 inches. so I went out and dug my car out from under 20 inches of snow ploughed down the drive though mtr high ruts of snow & ice where the lorries  delivering to the local DIY store had been manoeuvring. drove on to the bank then realizing  that my tank was almost empty got to the filling station filled up with the last of the diesel they had  they had all ready run out of petrol and normal diesel ( it must be my lucky day ) the attendant says she can close now until the weather changes because the tankers can't get through.My relative used to be an HGV Driver.mmmmn. what ever happened to the tough guys who's winter attire used to be shorts and sting vests. who used to get though despite all adversities  I 'spose its down to the E U and health and safety rules again I was once told by an HGV driver that if he had a puncture he had to call recovery out because he was delivering foodstuffs. military pensions.

Got this from another site.

The government have altered how they  your military pension is affected by annual inflation. they have changed the link from RPI to CPI .which will decrease the value of your pension year on year.

below are some examples of the loss .supplied by the Forces Pension Society, illustrating the cost of the change from RPI to CPI.

a/double amputee 28 year old corporal pounds 587,000 by the age of 70.

b/ 40 year old  Sgt 212,000 by age of 85

c/ 40 year old Major 319,000 by the age of 85.

Today I phoned Mrs Hamilton-Russell to enquire about Jake she tells me to let you all know that he is doing well and to thank you all for your interest, she tells me that they have been over to France to visit there daughter there recently and are going over again for xmas.

Scam Emails

To all members,
I have been in contact with Multiply with regards to the Scam Email's, I have now received a reply and for those Emails sent to members by unknowns have had their memberships on Multiply removed and blocked for breaking the code of conduct rules, if anyone receives these Email's please let me know and I will report it to Multiply for them to get them blocked also.
