Graham. Sorry for delay in replying to this query but I have been having great difficulty in accesing this website. I do not recall the names of these 2 lads as they were in C sqn I think It was a big scheme we were on and if my memory is correct 2 more lads were killed. I think it was late 57 or even early 58 A military funeral was held for them and their parents were brought over All the reg attended so maybe someone can name them. John
As I remember two soldiers and an Officer died,plus QM(Tech)was badly injured.Accidents mainly caused by wet cobbles and AFVs trying to fight the camber to keep on the road.Exercise was called off - but sadly one of the accidents happened on way to RV! --------- Don
As we pause and remember the supreme sacrifice made by members of the armed forces ln the past 96 years, I have always included those lives lost in service to our country in circumstances like the above tragedy .R.I.P GRAHAM

DEREK SSM Fletcher is named because if you look carefully you can just see his face behind the tree. I would assume that they were in his Sqn. I served under him at croydon (Sharpshooters)

Derek, 2Lt Clogg was the Officer I'm sure,the lads names I'm trying to find!(as I remember he had his AE case in the hatch mechanism,and when the DAC hit a tree the hatch---------------!!!!!!!!) -------- Don
