  3. Colin,
Hope your "17" jewel watch gave better service that mine, when I got back to UK it stopped, took it for repair, the watchmaker said "the repair will cost more than a new watch"!Still its the memories that count!I seem to remember a lot of our guys got their watches etc for free when the locals vacated the camp!

  4. Hello Jimpau,
Thanks for your kind comments. A pity that I only had a camera for part of my service; sadly, the first one was stolen and I bought the second only a few weeks before demob.
    Hello Oldroyal,
The story of the watch is much the same as the camera mentioned above; it was stolen soon after purchase as had been a previous one. Pity that a few fellows let the regiment down.
Best wishes to both of you. Colin.

  5. Steve Durrington kindly contacted me, where my photos are on my site, and asked if the dispatch rider is Ginger Waghorne; I had completely forgotten his name but as soon as I read Steve's note the name came back to me. Thanks Steve. It would be great if someone else recognised other folk in my photos as I can remember so few names these days. Colin.
