A lady died this past September, and MBNA bank billed her for October and November for their annual service charges on her credit card, and then added late fees and interest on the monthly charge. The balance that had been £0.00, now is somewhere around £60.00. A family member placed a call to the MBNA Bank: Family Member: 'I am calling to tell you that she died in September.' MBNA: 'The account was never closed and the late fees and charges still apply.' Family Member: 'Maybe, you should turn it over to collections.' MBNA: 'Since it is two months past due, it already has been.' Family Member: So, what will they do when they find out she is dead?' MBNA: 'Either report her account to the frauds division or report her to the credit bureau, maybe both!' Family Member: 'Do you think God will be mad at her?' MBNA: 'Excuse me?' Family Member: 'Did you just get what I was telling you ..... The part about her being dead?' MBNA: 'Sir, you'll have to speak to my supervisor.' Supervisor gets on the phone: Family Member: 'I'm calling to tell you, she died in September.' MBNA: 'The account was never closed and the late fees and charges still apply.' Family Member: 'You mean you want to collect from her estate?' MBNA: (Stammer) 'Are you her lawyer?' It was quiet that day, the guns and the mortars, and land mines for
some reason hadn't been heard.
The young soldier knew it was Sunday, the holiest day of the week.

As he was sitting there, he got out an old deck of cards and laid them
out across his bunk.

Just then an army sergeant came in and said, 'Why aren't you with the

kicked out of heaven for his sly and wicked ways and is now the joker
of eternal hell.

The Queen stands for the Virgin Mary.

The King stands for Jesus, for he is the King of all kings.

When I count the dots on all the cards, I come up with 365 total, one
for every day of the year.

There are a total of 52 cards in a deck; each is a week - 52 weeks in a year.

The four suits represent the four seasons: Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter.

Each suit has thirteen cards -- there are exactly thirteen weeks in a quarter.

So when I want to talk to God and thank Him, I just pull out this old
deck of cards and they remind me of all that I have to be thankful
for.'

The sergeant just stood there. After a minute, with tears in his eyes
and pain in his heart, he said, 'Soldier, can I borrow that deck of
cards?'

Please let this be a reminder and take time to pray for all of our
soldiers who are being sent away, putting their lives on the line
fighting

Veterans Day 11/11/11 USA

I have spent the past 8 years as guest of the Town of Walpole MA, at there Veterans day Parade.

Procurement of girls.

This morning I was listening to a report on the BBC News channel which dealt with the problem of young girls being procured for sex. The areas of geographical concern were in the Bolton and Blackburn areas, as well as others in the vicinity.

Some of the girls were as young as 12.

The point of the report was that the vast majority of the adult males involved in the procurement were of Asian descent. Why should they be “honoured” in this way? One of the young Asians interviewed made a valid point. He said that the parents of the Asian girls didn’t let them out at night and always knew where they were.

So was he inferring that we, as British parents didn’t care where or what our children are doing!! So therefore we were responsible for the outcome of the predicament. That we weren’t concerned about the welfare of the young white females.

It seems that most of the young girls are either from a family that have problems, or they are from somewhere like Barnardos.

The report stated that the procurement is organised and that there have been groups of adult male Asians trawling the streets looking for impressionable young females. They have been taking their time in grooming them, by plying them with drink and/or drugs.

I’m not saying that all of the procurement is being done by Asians alone, there have been cases of whites and black doing the same thing.

I think that the Asian thing is due to the fact that back “home” it is not uncommon for a child to be married off at a very young age. We would class it as paedophilia but to the Asian community it is normal.

(I would be most willing to accept your donations for chemical castration kits or blunt knifes whichever is your preference).

 I would like to share with you an experience that I recently had regarding drinking and driving.

As you would know, most of us have had brushes with the law on our way home at one time or another. Well I for one have done something about it.

The other night I was out for dinner and a few drinks with some friends. Having had a few too many single malts and knowing full well I was struggling, I did something I've never done before. I took a bus home.

I arrived home safely and without incident, which was a real surprise as I have never driven a bus before.

do a little more "regressive testing". This is a good demonstration of power-to-weight ratio of this aircraft! And talk about stability control... wow!

If he didn't come out of the loop wings-level, it probably would have been bad news; maybe taking some of the carrier with him!
Add to this flying through your own exhaust, which can lead to equipment malfunctions, as in "flame out".

The F-35 is single engine aircraft with vertical takeoff/landing capability, but it has the aerodynamics of a Steinway piano at zero airspeed.
This is the most unbelievable piece of flying you will ever see in your life.

This guy's coolness saved a 70 million-dollar aircraft! On the other hand, he might not have had time to react to anything except just ride it.

What a terrible mistake was made by miserable Europe ..
A lot of Americans have become so insulated from reality that they
imagine America can suffer defeat without any inconvenience to
themselves.

Recently, the UK debated whether to remove The Holocaust from its
school curriculum because it 'offends' the Muslim population which
claims it never occurred. It is not removed as yet. However, this is
a frightening portent of the fear that is gripping the world and how
easily each country is giving in to it.

It is now more than 60 years after the Second World War in Europe ended.

manager".

A couple were invited to a swanky costume party. Unfortunately, the wife came

down with a terrible headache and told her husband to go to the party alone.

He being a devoted husband protested, but she argued and said she was going

to take some aspirin and go to bed, and there was no need for his good time

being spoiled by not going.

So he took his costume and away he went. The wife, after sleeping soundly for

about an hour, awakened without pain and, as it was still early enough, decided

to go to the party.

Since her husband did not know what her costume was, she thought she would

have some fun by watching her husband to see how he acted when she was not

with him. She joined the party and soon spotted her husband cavorting around

on the dance floor, dancing with every nice woman he could, and copping a little

touch here and a little kiss there.

His wife sidled up to him and, being a rather seductive babe herself, he left his

current partner high and dry and devoted his time to the new babe who had just

arrived. She let him go as far as he wished ... naturally, since he was her

husband.

Finally, he whispered a little proposition in her ear and she agreed. So off they

went to one of the cars and had a quickie.

Just before unmasking at midnight, she slipped away, went home, put the

costume away, and got into bed, wondering what kind of explanation he would

make for his behavior. She was sitting up reading when he came in, and she

Murphy showed up at Mass one Sunday & the priest almost fell down when he saw him. He'd never been to church in his life.

Always take a small fridge magnet

on your holiday; Or business trip. it will come in handy at the end of it.

This is pretty good info. Never even thought

about key cards containing anything other

than an access code for the room!

HOTEL KEY CARDS

Ever wonder what is on your magnetic key

card?

Answer:
a. Customer's name
B. Customer's partial home address
c. Hotel room number
d. Check-in date and out dates
e. Customer's credit card number and expiration date!

When you turn them in to the front desk your

personal information is there for any employee

to access by simply scanning the card in the

hotel scanner. An employee can take a hand full

of cards home and using a scanning device, access

the information onto a laptop computer and go

shopping at your expense.

Simply put, hotels do not erase the information

on these cards until an employee reissues the

card to the next hotel guest. At that time, the

new guest's information is electronically 'over-

written' on the card and the previous guest's

information is erased in the overwriting process.

But until the card is rewritten for the next guest,

it usually is kept in a drawer at the front desk

with YOUR INFORMATION ON IT!

The bottom line is: Keep the cards, take them

home with you, or destroy them. NEVER leave them

behind in the room or room wastebasket, and

NEVER turn them into the front desk when you

check out of a room. They will not charge you for the card

(it's illegal) and you'll be sure you are not leaving

a lot of valuable personal information on it that could

be easily lifted off with any simple scanning device

card reader.

For the same reason, if you arrive at the airport and

discover you still have the card key in your pocket,

do not toss it in an airport trash basket. Take it home

and destroy it by cutting it up, especially through the

electronic information strip!

If you have a small magnet,

pass it across the magnetic

strip several times. Then try it in the door, it will not

work. It erases everything on the card.

I was watching the Rememberance Service on the TV this morning. During the LAST POST as the cameras were panning through the ex-service men waiting to parade past the Memorial, I saw a ROYALS cap badge, it was only a fleeting glance, but I think I saw FRED COLLINGWOOD, maybe he can confirm that he was on PARADE.

How about when you try to send your images to someone, especially when you want to send several at the same time.

Report of the death of Patrick (Paddy) Mullins.

Dear Member of The Blues and Royals Association,

I must sadly report that 23875670 Cpl Patrick Joseph (Paddy) MULLINS (71) who served with The Royal Dragoons and then The Blues and Royals between October 1961 - October 1970, passed away in hospital in Kilkenny, Eire on 6 November 2011. He had been ill with cancer for some time.

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday 8^th Nov after 11am requiem mass at The Cathedral Church of St Canice, The Close, Coach Rd, Kilkenny City, Ireland and then to Foulkstown Cemetery.

Family flowers only, donations, if desired, to The Friends of St. Luke's Hospital, Kilkenny.

The sincere condolences of The Blues and Royals Association go to his wife Nancy, children Marianne, Brian, Jane and all family and friends at this difficult time.

I just added a review Re - SOLDIERS by Richard Holmes. I know you will all enjoy reading it. Just published this year. It is Richards last publication as he died suddenly in April 2011 from pneumonia.

Richard Holmes joined the territorial Army in 1964, and served for over 35 years, retiring as Brigadier and Britains most senior reservist. He was Colonel of the Princess of Wales's Royal Regt from 1999 until 2007.

We have all read many books about Army & Regt history. I've enjoyed all of Richard Holmes books. This one I've not been able to put down. There is mention of the Royals back as far as 1764. Fascinating reading.

PC Applications

Sometime ago I had this application recommended to me.

I'm not sure how you personally go about making sure that your PC is running to its full potential.

Some of you I'm sure know your way around a PC to keep it running smoothly and without problems, but others wonder why their system is running very slow. It might seem to take forever to do anything.

Have a look at this application, I use it all the time. It cleans out all of the IE browser files that accumalate everytime you go on the internet, fixes any problems you have in the registry entries, and other things that would take you forever to remove manually.

It's a free download for the basic version but is still worth using every few days to keep the system clean, just like getting ready for a C I V.

A Letter to Mr. Cameron

Absolutely fantastic, so simple but might affect those wishy-washy
liberal do gooders who are the bane of our current society


Dear Mr. Cameron,

Please find below our suggestion for fixing the UK 's economy.

Instead of giving billions of pounds to banks that will squander the money
on lavish parties and unearned bonuses, use the following plan.

You can call it the Patriotic Retirement Plan:

There are about 10 million people over 50 in the work force.

Pay them £1 million each severance for early retirement with the following
stipulations:

1) They MUST retire.
Ten million job openings - unemployment fixed

2) They MUST buy a new British car.
Ten million cars ordered - Car Industry fixed

3) They MUST either buy a house or pay off their mortgage -
Housing Crisis fixed

4) They MUST send their kids to school/college/university -
Crime rate fixed

5) They MUST buy £100 WORTH of alcohol/tobacco a week .....
And there's your money back in duty/tax etc

P.S. If more money is needed, have all members of parliament pay back their
falsely claimed expenses and second home allowances

Let's put the pensioners in jail and the criminals in a nursing home.

This way the pensioners would have access to showers, hobbies and walks.

They'd receive unlimited free prescriptions, dental and medical treatment,
wheel chairs etc and they'd receive money instead of paying it out.

They would have constant video monitoring, so they could be helped
instantly, if they fell, or needed assistance.

Bedding would be washed twice a week, and all clothing would be ironed and
returned to them.

A guard would check on them every 20 minutes and bring their meals and
snacks to their cell.

They would have family visits in a suite built for that purpose.

They would have access to a library, weight room, spiritual counselling,
pool and education.

Simple clothing, shoes, slippers, PJ's and legal aid would be free, on
request.

Each senior could have a PC a TV radio and daily phone calls.

There would be a board of directors to hear complaints, and the guards would
have a code of conduct that would be strictly adhered to.

Lights off at 8pm, and showers once a week. Live in a tiny room and pay
£600.00 per week and have no hope of ever getting out.

Think about this (more points of contention):

Is it just me, or does anyone else find it amazing that during the mad cow
epidemic our government could track a single cow, born in Appleby almost
three years ago, right to the stall where she slept in the county of
Cumbria?

And, they even tracked her calves to their stalls. But they are unable to
locate 125,000 illegal immigrants wandering around our country. Maybe we
should give each of them a cow.

Think about this ... If you don't want to forward this for fear of offending

Report received today of the deaths of Major General PB Cavendish & Sgt Albert Henry Swann

I must sadly report that the following regimental colleagues have recently died:

Major General PB CAVENDISH CB OBE DL (86) who served with the Royal Dragoons between 1943 – 1946, died on 24^th October 2011. There will be a private cremation followed by a Service of Thanksgiving which will take place at 1.00 pm on Thursday 10^th November at All Saints’ Parish Church, Alport Lane, Youlgrave, Bakewell, Derbyshire DE45 1WN.

Major General PB Cavendish also Served With 3^RD The King’s Own Hussars 1946 – 1958, The Queen’s Own Hussars 1958 – 1964 and 14^th/20^th King’s Hussars 1964 – 1981 and was Colonel 14^TH/20^TH King’s Hussars 1976 - 1980

Don't recognise it !!

I've just been reading some of the old posts on the BB. Feeling rather nostalgic I thought I would have a look at "jolly old Tidders" via Google Maps. It's gone, as we would remember it. All new buildings, the village as such has changed beyond recognition. I tried to find the tank hangers but couldn't find them as they were. I tried to use Sidbury Hill as a reference point, but as it is an airial image there is no definition to the hill. I think I found where the tank hangers were, but in their place are three new buildings, very confusing. None of the old barracks are there, all demolished and bright and shiny ones rebuilt. I was thinking of driving down there in the summer for a day trip, but I think it would be a waste of time, nothing left to remember. I suppose The Ram would still be there, but that would be the only place left standing....

Nothing to do...

I'm very disapointed and very depressed at the moment. Firstly my good mate, who I used to have quite fireside talks with, discussing the wrongs of the world and how he could put things right, was cold bloodly murdered by those nasty war-mongering Americans. And now my mentor of all things holy. No longer will I be able to enjoy a crunchy crystalized camel crap sandwich under the stars in Tripoli; washed down with a frothing cup of fermenting goats pee. I hope that nasty man at Number 10 is happy with what he has contributed too. I no longer have the friendship of two of the wisest individuals whoever walked upon this sorry earth.
I am truly gutted........

Korean War Memorial

I was invited to attend the rededication of the South Boston Korean War Memorial Sun Oct 1st. This Memorial was dedicated 20 years ago to the 20 Young men who never returned Home.

The Forgotten War

The Department of Defense POW/Missing Personnel Office (DPMO) announced today that the remains of a serviceman, missing in action from the Korean War, have been identified and will be returned to his family for burial with full military honors.

Army Cpl. Edward M. Pedregon of El Paso, Texas, will be buried on Oct. 6 in Arlington National Cemetery. A memorial service was held in San Elizario, Texas, on Oct. 1. In late November 1950 Pedregon and the Heavy Mortar Company, of the 31st Regimental Combat Team known as Task Force Faith were overrun by Chinese forces near the Chosin Reservoir in North Korea. After several days of heavy attacks, Task Force Faith was forced to withdraw, but was stopped by enemy blockades that overpowered them on Dec. 2, 1950. Pedregon was reported missing in action on Nov. 30, 1950.

In 1953, following the exchange of all prisoners of war by both sides of the conflict, no further information was gained to indicate that Pedregon had been held as a prisoner of war, and he was declared dead.

In 2004, a joint U.S./Korean People's Army team excavated several sites in the Chosin Reservoir area and recovered the remains of at least nine individuals and military equipment. The location of the remains corresponds to the positions temporarily held by elements of Task Force Faith in late November 1950.

Among forensic identification tools and circumstantial evidence, scientists from the Armed Forces DNA Identification Laboratory used dental records, and mitochondrial DNA which matched that of Pedregon's mother and brotherin the identification of the remains.

Came across this advert on page 56 of the September/October 2011 edition of The Royal British Legion Magazine (just out now!) and thought this might be of interest here? What I can remember of a rather cryptic posting from B Sqn Notice board Nee Soon.
It has come to the attention of the Officer Commanding that other ranks are using water in an indiscriminate way for washing, shaving and other facets of personal hygiene.
THIS IS TO STOP IMMEDIATELY.
Water is not only a precious commodity which must be closely controlled in order to accommodate the needs of the Officers Mess and Stables.
Other ranks are reminded that this abuse of water can ultimately result in the following :-
Reduction of natural oils of the skin rendering that soldier more prone to disease and that this condition could be construed as a self inflicted injury.
A “blanching” or lightning of the skin tone rendering that soldier almost impossible to conceal or camouflage, putting both himself and his pals at risk.
The possibility of creating unwanted divisions in the Squadron between the washed and the unwashed, the light and the dark.

Water for drinking will still be available but will now be issued daily behind the SQMS store to one nominated member of each Troop.

6 weeks ago, we decided to go away for a few days for our 52nd. Anniversary. (Lake District) 19 Sept. Booked, paid, received confirmation. The week prior we went to our static caravan in the Dales. Fri. 16th. Sept. My Secretary/Wife took a call on her mobile. The coach driver was at the pick-up point waiting for us. My wife insisted our trip was Monday for our anniversary. No insisted the driver. We advised him we couldn!t make the pick.up, and they left without us. We returned home and checked the booking. My Secretary had got it wrong.!!! I threatened to fire her. Her answer. FIRE ME,!! I will then have time to sit down and write my memoirs.

Where is everyone

Since I came back from my short break it seems that everyone has disappeared from the Bulletin Board, I have noticed that there are a lot of members that have now gone on doing most of there postings on Facebook, has it now got to the stage where you are all not interested in the Royal Dragoons site any more, if this is the case do you wish it to be wound up, I have noiticed that there are only the odd one or two members that do postings on the other sites also, Derek, Denis, and myself are very disappointed that the site is not being used, I have put up requests asking members to inform me that they will be coming to the reunion next year and it seems that some members have not replied, I know that the Premier Inn has been fully booked for the 16 June but I have only got just over twenty that have informed me that they are booked in at this stage, I am doing my best to get the reunion organised and it would be a help if I knew roughly how many of you will be attending before I call in to see the new General Manager to get the costings, so may I ask you again to please inform me ASP.
