Alan Ashdown's photo's sent to me by Barrie Dolphin to put up on site.
Wesendorf 54
All these Photo's were from Alan's Time in the Regiment from 1953, all the info in written on the back so bear with me as it may take some time to edit them all. John Atkins
Interesting photo's, I still think that a well tailored set of BD,s is far smarter than No2 dress.Although most of the time now is spent wearing Combat Soldier 95 or it,s updated equivalent.
I agree with you BD was a lot smarter ; they seam to have only one suit and that is the combat one ,which is good for what it is made for but not for parades etc
When I joined Reg in Feb 56 at Wesendorf all l/cpls had 2 stripes and a full Cpl had 2 stripes with crown and lion above. When was the change made? John.
Can any one tell me were Barrie Dolphin came from? Interesting set of photo's.

Same here in 1956. My guess is it came in shortly before this date.
ReplyDeleteThese two last photo's I have put up are from the 1958 Journal so it must have been before then.
