I blew it up 400% but could'nt find Derek. But his camouflage was always good!Maybe he's the half a face on the right of the picture. That pints safe according to my eyes! ---- Don
OK Derek put us out of our misery and nam them as they should be. Alan copied the names off the Sqn notice board as soon as it was posted?? Oh by the wy he was the "A" Sqn PAYCLERK!!!!!!!!!!!!so most of you OLDIES should recognise him.
Derek is behind Mjr. Timbrell, looks as if Swordnot has won the pint, well done. Derek to confirm. The Sgt on your right Jim looks like Sgt. Plumley, will take your word for it that it is Sgt. Blackaller. I never had the pleasure of meeting him. TIS
One chap I thought might have been in this 'photo is L/C 'Brummy' Pincher.but maybe he had left us by then. The main reason I remember him is because of his dog 'Patch'. He acquired this small dog, God knows from where from, and after the required quarantine time (the dog not Brummy) he was allowed to keep it. We took it out on the 'Erskine Line' patrol with us and had great fun with it. Who remembers 'Brummy'?. Paddy
Paddy i remember Jack Pincher very well and his dog Patch,,Jack joined the regiment after serving 2 years in the ROYAL NAVY.Ihave aphoto of him in Navy Uniform..he was also one of my best drinking pals.i have been tyring to track him down for years.he was last seen driving around the streets collecting SCRAP METAL DEREK
Hi Derek, its not very often i win something thats not got something to do with horses, i looked and looked then looked at your training squad photo at Carlisle,it was hard job but put my money on it,i did have my doubts of a bad gambler stuck with it, are sure you can put 50pence a month away,i will get you a bottle of Champayne am sure the Old man would agree....as always Stuart
Had two choices second from left or in middle i took a gamble still had a doubt so put the magnafier on and stuck to hunch, not very often one can win a pint from an SSM, more like a 252 a CHARGE......will hide now bit old for a rifting.......Stuart
