  1. A lot of people "knocked" Wesendorf as a posting.But it was for a RECCE Regt ideal,I enjoyed my time there,and we had a great Mess life too!

  3. Wesendorf, great. Riding across to the Cafe ,tethering the horses outside and having a feww litres before cantering back to the stables. Bicycles were the order of the day for getting around, especially if you had to go to the Tech Stores. Oh! Many happy memories.

I remember Skip Edwards had the first decent car,a VW,at Wesendorf.He had the habit after Mess Night of driving home on the footpathI know,cause one Saturday night,after a great evening,he took us home because it was snowing.Mind you,you could'nt really see where the kerb was because of the snow.Hairey!!!!!!What great days,and what great guys!

  7. Stan. I am still learning my way around this comp and this BB and I have just come across this photo by the pool at wesendorf and the one laying down is me wiyh tommy Coan next to me. I have never seen this before and cannot remember it bei ng taken I was in 3 troop a sqn and tom was in 5 troop You obviously were. Which troop were you in?

  8. I was the COs Trumpeter when this photo was taken HQ (Band). Do you remember that swimming pool near Celle that everyone went to? (my swimming pool mugshot left above) I've also got a few of Cal (Hank) Card's Wesendorf collection, I'm sure he won't mind if I put a few more on for him. (shortly)

  9. Icertainly do remember pool. Right next to main gate opposite guardroom. Iwas out there in 2006 and visited camp at Herford. Pool still there bit all neglected now.
