THE ROYAL DRAGOONS REGIMENTAL COLLECT
O God, in whose sight all creatures are manifest and to whose eyes all things are open, grant that the works Thou requirest of the 1st The Royal Dragoons may never be done to be seen of men, but always for Thy Glory, and that, waiting on Thee to renew our strength, we mount up with wings as eagles at Thy word, through Jesus Christ Our Lord.
(TOBIAS,1930)
Lt Casey was my troop leader 2nd trp C Sqn.
ReplyDeleteI can remember when the mini first came onto the market, he bought one and it was quite funny to see him curl up and get into it as he was at least 6'4".
I used to rib him rotten at times. When he was first appointed troop leader he was as green as the grass. I can remember him in the tank hanger turning the turret round and round as if it was a new toy. I told him that he had unscrewed the turret mountings and that it was liable to topple over off of the body. He sat in the turret for a good five minutes waiting for the L A D to come before the penny dropped. I don't think he believed anything I said to him after that. I think his father was at some time Colonel of the Regiment
