Welcome to the BB Mark - hope you start posting soon.Hope you were not the RP who upset my daughter, she came home very indignant one day saying - Dad,youve gotta do something about a poor soldier in the guardroom who was being marched to the cookhouse for his lunch,he was being ill-treated as the RP kept making him march in double time, then mark time till he caught up with him,on and on - I felt so sorry for him.So I appeased my daughter saying "I'll tell that poor RP how you felt for him!!!!!! Kids!!!! ------ Don

Hi Fred I remeber you and also Norman Thorpe. I moved from the provo staff to the officers mess around 1966, I also recall the names George Mimms awaiter Barman who played a mean guitar, and loffty Barrett the mess cook.
Hi There you are probally right I Remeber Jimmy Ford and Les Kenyon. Our Drill NCO was Cpl Durrant who Hailed from Battersea(London). I have very painful members of Dodging a best dress muster parade by going dental sick with about 8 others one morning, which resulted in me loosing 3 teeth and having nine stitches inside my mouth. Never been keen on dentist ever since.I think we were referred to as the shight hawk squad as we where all Royals apart for one 17th/21st Lancer. I bleieved we were top Platoon on pass out. I remember the weeks we spent doing fatique type jobs till we got a flight out to Malaya. I joined 1st troop A Squadron on arrival Cpl Brett was the troop NCO and Cliff Crabbe was the SSM.
Hi I may have been that RP that upset your daughter as we were always made to adopt that marching policy by Danny Bradley the RSM. Not one I agreed with though.
Mark,I will tell my daughter what a nice kind guy you were, and how you even allowed those bad lads to have some lunch too after their "PT"!Nice to hear from you. ------- Don
