If anyone is interested in adding their name to the petition, this can be done on www.gurkhajustice.org.uk.
The list of people objecting to the Government's rules on residency in the UK is growing by the second. I think they need our support.

Ok Veterans, Army, Navy & Royal Airforce. Not only have our Gurkas Comrades been stabed in the back, but so have all members of the Armed Forces past and present who have had the privlage of serving with them. The French put us to shame, If you join the French Foreign and serve your 5 years you are given French Citizenship from the French people. Yes Miriam and Myself will sign the petition but would like to do more? any suggestions?
ReplyDeleteJohn & Miriam Matthew

ReplyDeleteI joined the Gurkha campaign today
I downloaded a heap of petition forms and took them to the Saturday market today, it was amazing how many folks wanted to sign up. I will send these off when I have them filled. This is about all we can do right now but, I have heard that Joanne Lumley is organising some peaceful protests in the coming weeks. What is really annoying me is we are becoming flooded with Eastern Europeans a percentage of whom will become British Citizens no doubt....I am not Racist but doesn't this show how damned stupid this is???
ReplyDeleteAll governments of whatever complexion are guilty of neglect of the armed forces in general and have always been as history shows. This latest treatment of the gallant Gurkas is another example. Everyone make sure that you sign the protest site.
ReplyDeletePaddy
I have signed, and like everyone I think it is a disgrace that these brave men who have fought for this country are treated like this and we can take in asylum seekers and house and keep them and they have not even paid anything in to this country but what doe's this government do (sweet f,a.)
ReplyDeletesigned it a few weeks ago.also sent it to my local MP
ReplyDeleteif they had white robes and abused Britain and all things British they would have politicicians and lawyers falling over themselves
ReplyDeleteto keep them in Britain
Bob
I think I am angry because their own country is being trodden down, so where do they call home? You are so right Bob, about the white robes and abuse...what the hell is running our country these days?
ReplyDeleteDerek R
Let us not forget that the Gurkhas had tax deducted from their pay whilst serving in the army, They have more rights to be in this country than the undesirable benefit scrounging foreigners.
ReplyDeleteGreat victory for the Ghurkas cause to-day in Parliament. There were still a lot of MP's who voted for the motion. They should all be named and shamed.
ReplyDeletePaddy
All is not over yet, Well done Joanna Lumley, nothing but admiration for this fine lady.
ReplyDeleteFunny thing, never thought much of her as an actress, but now I'm one of her fans!
