POLITICALLY CORRECT JOKES

Did you hear about the look-a-like competition in China.
Everybody won.

Was so depressed last night I rang the Samaritans.   Got through to a call centre in Pakistan.   Told them, I was suicidal, they got all excited and asked me if I could fly a plane.

What's the difference between Harold Shipman and Gordon Brown?     Shipman actually did something about NHS waiting lists.

A black man takes a girl home from a nightclub.   She says "Show me it's true what they say about black men".    So he stabbed her and nicked her purse.

  2. Hi Ian,           Was it you who told me Detmold MQs were being handed back in April this year?.Talking to a Lt-Col yesterday, its news to him!And they are still "marching in".Or do they say nowadays "ushered in"? Regards   Don

  3. Don Defence Estates (DE) were due to takeover all MQ's in Europe wef today.   However, the hierarchy were not happy with their proposals.   The takeover is now delayed until 1 Apr 09.   One of the stumbling blocks was the question of furniture (DAS).    With the proposed closures of Rheindahlen, Elmpt and Osnabruck, many people are questioning whether it will happen at all.   By 2015 it could be just a case of 'will the last man out, put the light off''.   One thing is sure, if DE do takeover they will certainly make stringent cuts on the real estate and manpower fronts. Regards Ian

  4. Ian,      Thanks for that, surprised to see an advert in the local press looking for MQs in the area, seem to be so many standing empty in Detmold. The service people I meet seem to be sure the Detmold MQs are safe for at least 5 years? ---- Don

  7. Brian you will notice on the other BB a reference made by Nigel Bourne re the "Hak"
These were married quaters at Hakedahl which was outside the back gate and up the hill. They resembled a council house estate as I seemed to remember.Barbara and I had what they called a hiring which was a private residence leased to the MOD.
Ours was in 13 Bruder Strasse Heidenoldendorf and our landlords Horst and Maurita were the perfect hosts when it came to our comfort. They especially liked Coffee purchased from the NAFFI shop.
