JOHN COOPER

John welcome to the ROYALS BB hope you find your way around ok.John was in the ROYALS from1962--1968 spent time in Tidwoth and Cyprus finished his time in Detmold. i think John was in A Sqn for most of his time..maybe when he gets the hang of the BB he can tell us all about his service days

Hi everybody Thank you for the welcome .I was in A sqn and was not that familiar with the other sqn and i am terrible with names but remember faces.Was any body in Osnabruck with the 16/5th Lancers while we waited for the regiment to return from Malaya. If anybody remembers Harry Taylor he yoused to call me chrome dome ,i have had contact with him a couple of times over the years but nobody else. looking forward to hearing from you all.John

HiJohn dont know if you remember me Ray Brown , have just found a Picture of yourself a chap whos surname was Lawson. myself and Terry Neavsie, in Cyprus 64, when I knew you, you lived at Ockshot, are you still there,on looking at the site you have not changed that much apart from the Fuss on your face, yes I do remember Harry Taylor, am now starting to remember people from our Army Service, also are you still interested in Bikes at the time you had a Beige coloured Norton is that correct, hope to hear from you Ray.

Hi Ray yes i thought you meant Oxted,no i now longer live there .I Went to Aberdare in South Wales when i left the forces and met my wife and lived there for 17yrs then moved to Nailsea near Bristol as work moved and they moved me over.That was the best move ever South Wales not the best place to bring up kids and have a good future.My wife had just done her Midwifery training and got a job at the Bristol Maternity Hospital and the rest is history. As you might have read i am terrible with names but i think i do remember you a photo would help,its funny how today we take photos with our phones or digital cameras but back then very few had a camera. If you can email me a photo of yourself and also of the one of Cyprus that would be great,get back to me and we can chat again. All the best John.

  16. Hi Tiffy no i was not in MT troop i spent most of my time in Asqn A troop Sqn leaders Tank driver for my sins good to hear from you i am going to have to put names to faces in due course.

  17. John tell us about your time in CYPRUS what were you doing and who was your troop SGT..
    Cliff Crabb was the SSM and i was SQMS.i have almost put a face to your name. a photo would help
