  2. I was aware it was an other ranks example - the officers were slightly different in that they had a black leather band, whereas the other ranks was cloth. There is an officers example in the Household Cavalry Museum, which is in storage at the moment, but I do not think they have an other ranks example.

  3. I bet that will stay in storage for ever more.just like lots of other Royals gear they got.i dont think they do know what they are holdind.you shud work on them and try to get hold of it

  5. Hi Grumpy, I am at present working as a Volunteer in the Household Cavalry Museum at Windsor & I can assure you the 'Royals' elements are safe & sound. All items in the reserve collection will be available to view when everything has been collated & recorded. The Museum now has a well qualified & experienced civilian Curator who has no regimental affiliations - his object is to preserve & make available the collection to the public, including the photographs & archives. The Royals are well represented in the collection - the medal collection is particularly good & we can be thankful to Brigadier Ernest Makins who gave his collection to the Royal Dragoons many years ago. As soon as everything is made ready I will let everyone know.

  6. Bandrat,thank you VERY much for the info,sounds as if it will be worth a visit in the near future,not been yet as I have had some adverse remarks about it,so when it is fully up and running hope to come down for a visit.
